Location:

Kenya is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the northeast, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, and Sudan to the northwest. The Indian Ocean runs along the southeast border.

Funzi Island with its tropical beaches is situated 80 km south of Mombasa, Kenya's principal port and the country's second largest city (Mombasa is located on Mombasa Island). The large parts of the island are covered by mangrove woods. These woods are protected by nature conservation. Funzi Island has mostly not been affected by development therefore one has to go to the nearby Diani Beach for shopping. There are three main shopping centres in Diani Beach and a number of boutiques, greengrocers, supermarkets, drugstores, bakeries, souvenir shops, discotheques as well as a modern surgery, pharmacy, mail office, petrol station and a car rental agency. Diani Beach has a growing assortment of hotels and restaurants - some of them luxurious.

Ukunda has an airstrip for smaller airplanes starting and end point for airborne safaris to the game reserves.

It is worth emphasizing that on Funzi Island there are no mosquitoes and no dangerous animals.

The small national park Shimba Hills is located 55 km inland from Funzi Island. Being on the top of the ridge ( 400 m high) one has a wonderful view of the Indian Ocean, the Usambara mountains in Tanzania and the wide grassland populated by elephant, buffalo, bushbuck and sable antelope.

Kitchen: fitted with a bowl sink, up-market fixtures and a modern worktop.

Bathroom: each bathroom has a shower, wash basin and WC, attractive tiling to the walls (till 1,80 m) and to the floor, up-market fixtures (European standard).

Guest toilette: a guest toilette with washbasin and WC is to be found on the ground floor.

The floor of the entire villa is tiled (coloured ceramic tiles 33 cm x 33 cm). All doors and windows are made out of heavy African mahogany.
